What we research

We check the details that change a holiday decision

A pool icon or a high review score rarely tells the whole story. Needle researches the practical details that are scattered across listings, maps, provider pages and recent guest feedback, then compares them with what you told us matters.

Destinations and areas

We look beyond the country name. The right island, resort or neighbourhood can change transfer time, beach access, atmosphere, restaurant choice and how easy the holiday feels day to day.

Properties

We investigate the accommodation type, location and brief-specific essentials. Depending on your trip, that may include room or kitchen facilities, suitability for the party, nearby amenities, pools or slides, accessibility, quietness and other deal-breakers.

Maps and locality

We check where a property actually is rather than relying only on the area used in a booking-site label. When location evidence is unclear or contradictory, it remains unverified instead of being quietly assumed.

Recent guest reviews

We summarise recurring praise and recurring concerns from attributable guest-review sources. We distinguish repeated patterns from isolated comments, mixed evidence and older reports.

You can also ask us to investigate particular concerns—for example sunbed availability, noise, cleanliness, building work, accessibility, queues, overcrowding, room condition or reports of stomach illness. Sensitive reports are attributed carefully and are never presented as a medical conclusion.

Sources, unknowns and conflicts

Every customer-facing finding should be traceable to supporting evidence. If no reliable recent evidence is available, we show that as an unknown. Missing evidence is not treated as proof that a property fails.

What we do not do

  • We do not accept sponsored placements or commission from hotels.
  • We do not make the booking for you.
  • We do not guarantee that availability, facilities or prices will remain unchanged.
  • We do not hide uncertainty behind a confident-sounding score.
