How it works

From too many holiday tabs to one clear shortlist

Finding holidays is easy. Working out which one genuinely suits you is the difficult part. Booking sites show what is available; Needle in the Sand helps you decide what is right for your trip.

  1. 1. Tell us what matters

Start in your own words or use Quick Match. Tell us who is travelling, when you want to go and what would make or break the holiday. You can name somewhere you already have in mind, stay open to suggestions, and tell us the concerns you want checked in guest reviews.

  2. 2. Get your free holiday directions

We turn the essentials into a small set of useful directions rather than another wall of listings. You can rule out an option, ask for something similar, and keep refining the direction before deciding whether deeper research would help.

This first stage is guidance, not a property recommendation. It uses established destination information and is designed to be quick.

  3. 3. Choose Full Holiday Research

For a £29 one-off payment, we investigate the strongest destinations, areas and properties against your actual brief. We check the sources, maps, locality, important facilities and recent guest-review patterns. If evidence is missing or conflicting, we say so.

  4. 4. Receive a ranked, evidence-backed shortlist

Your report puts the answer first: the closest matches, why they suit you, and the compromises worth knowing. Supporting detail and sources remain available when you want to inspect them.

  5. 5. Decide what to do next

Mark properties as Keep, Watchlist or Discount. Add prices you find so you can compare the remaining options and narrow your final shortlist. Needle supports the decision; you book directly with the travel provider you choose.

Independent by design

Needle is independent. Hotels and holiday companies do not pay to appear higher, and a listing is never treated as proof on its own.
